With origins dating back to the 17th century, this manor house preserves the authenticity and character of the region, offering guests a unique experience where the charm of tradition blends with contemporary comfort.

Our bookshop/stationery store is not just a commercial space; it is a building erected in the 18th century with stones from the surrounding walls of the city’s castle. The granite walls surrounding the store have told many stories, but now they are dedicated to keeping those that live inside books. An immersive experience upon entering, the contrast between the centuries-old stone and the modern iron mezzanine structure defines our identity. We have created a refuge of about 200m2 where the pace slows down and the silence invites reading.  

Body: We opened our doors in 2008 with a single conviction: Lamego’s flavors are not just products; they are memories. For nearly two decades, our shop has been the meeting point between the hands that work the Douro valley and those, like you, who refuse to compromise on authenticity.

We don’t just sell wine or cured meats. We offer the aroma of the firewood used to cure our traditional fumeiro, the ancient wisdom that turns milk into artisanal cheese, and the sun that ripened the olives for our oil. We are proud guardians of the native treasures from this region, a World Heritage site.
